Braveheart Association
The aims of the Braveheart Association are to provide a framework of active support and encouragement for sufferers of coronary heart disease and other long-term conditions to promote their current and future well-being. There are three main programmes within Braveheart: self help groups, a walking programme and fundraising.
The walking programme with Braveheart specifically targets inactive people, in particular those with long term conditions. We encourage our participants to begin exercising, then to gradually increase and finally maintain an appropriate level of physical activity. There are currently 7 weekly walks and 2 monthly walks available ranging from ˝ mile to 2 miles.
Falkirk Council
The whole of the Callendar Estate is located in the Falkirk Council area. For detailed information about the area see the section of the Falkirk Council website on ‘Local Attractions’ including information on the ‘Antonine Wall’ the largest relic of Roman occupation in Scotland some of which is on the Callendar Estate.
Falkirk Environment Trust
Falkirk Environment Trust (F.E.T.) is a local charitable trust which aims to support environmental projects by awarding grants and supplying advice and guidance. Their website is there to assist Community Groups, Charities, Community Councils etc to gain funding for projects of this type, specifically in the Falkirk Council area. Callendar Estate has worked closely with F.E.T. in the past to develop community and environmental projects.
Falkirk Local History Society
Falkirk Local History Societyas established in 1981 to provide a forum for those interested in the history of the east Stirlingshire area, that is the present Falkirk Council area. The stated aim of the society is to ensure that reliable historical information about Falkirk district's past is widely available.
Scottish Natural Heritage
As the statutory agency for nature conservation in Scotland Callendar Estate works closely with SNH staff to ensure that the important nature conservation interest of the estate is maintained.
