About Us

Callendar Estate extends to approximately 6,300 acres mainly of tenanted farmland and woodland. The main area of the estate lies on the south side of Falkirk, in central Scotland, with other areas around the towns of Denny, Larbert, Laurieston and Whitecross.

Callendar Estate is a forward looking modern estate which recognises the importance of the traditional rural estate activities of food and timber production however it is equally in tune with the need to satisfy the recreational and leisure activities of the nearby urban communities. As an estate that is located in central Scotland strategically placed between the economic power houses of Edinburgh and Glasgow, Callendar Estate has to be closely in tune with the needs of those that live and work in the communities immediately around it. The art of balancing the varying needs of rural and urban populations is never an easy one however Callendar Estate grasps these issues and works with alll those around to move forward to maximise the use of the estate for the benefit of all.

Through the innovative activities and initiatives that Callendar Estate has undertaken it has helped put Falkirk on the map. Iconic projects such as the Falkirk Wheel and the Helix have been fully supported by the Callendar Estate through the provision of land and land management expertise. Falkirk is now a real destination in Scotland and the UK not least because of the support and involvement of Callendar Estate.

Recreation, leisure and the need to keep healthy are important factors in the quality of life in the Falkir area. Callendar Estate plays an important role in this in its provision of many miles of accessible pathways through woodland and countryside with stunning views stretching to the Forth and beyond. Maintaining and enhancing Callendar Estate for wildlife and recognising its role in local biodiversity are also vital components of the management of the estate.

Sustainability projects including the innovative wood fuel enterprise complete the picture of this exciting modern estate.
